War and Your Investments

24 February 2022

To all Financial Friends

As Russia invades Ukraine we think first of the people. It is heart-wrenching to consider the pain and suffering arising from what is to come. Nevertheless, my role is to consider and comment on the outlook for your investments.

In my last commentary I highlighted a portfolio which had possible war in mind.

Consider structuring your portfolio to hold:  Index Linked Bonds.  Gold and silver.  FTSE 100 (on watch).   Infrastructure funds.  Funds focussing on Consumer Staples Stocks.?

Should you have moved your funds in line with the above then this may well, in my view, prove prudent and profitable. An emphasis on Inflation Index Linked Bonds and Gold could lead to greater profitability. Consumer Staple funds and then Infrastructure later could well prove positive as some kind of, as once again, a 'new normality' settles in.
